Abstract

This is a political and legal systematization of the strategy deployed in the emblematic Belén case, one of the most paradigmatic cases of criminal prosecution against a woman who suffered a miscarriage in Argentina. It recovers the key elements of the feminist litigation, the media battle, and the building of political solidarity that allowed for the reversal of an unjust conviction and the transformation of an individual case into a regional precedent of resistance against criminalization.
